Who We Are

What Does Morning Star Givers Mean?

It means Jesus gives His agape love to us all. Revelation 22:16 states that He is the Bright and Morning Star. So where do we come in? We are the people of God, willing vessels to be used by Him until the end (Revelation 2:25-29).

Our Mission

Morning Star Givers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lithonia, GA, and dedicated to providing re-entry support and personal development services for justice-involved individuals, veterans, and at-risk populations. Our organization was founded on April 26, 2009, and officially granted tax-exempt status by the IRS in February 2022. Our founder, Pastor Michael Minter, was compelled to start Morning Star Givers, in part by his personal experiences and deep faith, and also in response to the growing need for comprehensive services for formerly incarcerated individuals. Since inception, Pastor Minter’s vision for Morning Star Givers has been rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a second chance, especially those society often counts out, such as first-time offenders, ex-offenders, and troubled youth.

Our Board

The Board of Directors provides strategic guidance and oversight to Morning Star Givers, playing a critical role in effectively developing community partnership and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. Each member brings expertise in key areas such as program development, counseling, financial oversight, volunteer management, and technical communication.
